You can reduce your chances of common roadside violations during Roadcheck — and all year long — by simply reviewing those most frequently cited by enforcement.
The top 10 driver violations listed on roadside inspections during the calendar year 2021 include:
• Speeding 6–10 miles per hour over the speed limit
• Failure to obey traffic control device
• False record of duty status
• Failing to use a seat belt while operating a CMV
• Operating a CMV without a CDL
• Lane restriction violation
• No ELD when it is required
• Record of duty status violation (general/form and manner)
• No medical certificate in driver’s possession
• Speeding 11-14 miles per hour over the speed limit
